  Many persons should be recognised for their contributions to the traditional invention of Electric Vehicles. In 1828, Anyos Jedlik created the first small electric car by building an electric motor. Between 1832 and 1839, a Scottish inventor named Robert Anderson created a crude electric vehicle. The first  electric vehicle  was a three-wheeler dubbed VIKRAM SAFA, which was created by Scooter’s India Pvt Ltd in 1996. A total of 400 automobiles were built and sold. In the year 2000, BHEL released an eighteen-seater electric bus, which was also a hit. Then, in Delhi, some 200 electric vehicles were built and operated. However, because of the expensive cost of the battery and its short life, it did not fare well on the market. Electric cars first appeared in the nineteenth century.
